A setting on the Twitter SMS service required maintenance this morning. Recently scheduling changes have dramatically changed the window Twitter should provide SMS messages directly to the cellular phone sitting on the table. Without direct access to a computer, the only direct method for resolving the issue involved suspending the SMS service. Without cellular phone access, to the internet the Twitter SMS service provides the only option for accessing mobile information. Mobile internet would probably be a substantial improvement over the current situation. Currently, subscriptions to news related Twitter feeds provide access to information. At some point, the mobile internet will probably provide a more reliable method for accessing information online.
