Understanding developing technology requires becoming emerged within the technology during the entire development cycle.

Today the over the top information presentation will include discussion of several topics deemed interesting by the host and sometimes only by the host. However, in terms of sponsorship, today the broadcast for the third week in a row is brought to you by the unofficial show sponsor TACOS… nothing says ultimate snacking experience like the taco. If tacos were the subject of a lobby group in Washington, D.C., then democracy and the social fabric of America would be significantly stronger.

Today the NelsCAST will not feature any scheduled guests. Guests are being considered for future broadcasts. For those long range planners listening to the show, a special live guest appearance will occur during a special two day on location show June 25th and 26th, 2010.

…and now in the third episode of the NelsCAST it would be prudent if not necessary to describe the intellectual purpose of the NelsCAST… All essays, indeed this commentary, this expository consideration is about the intersection of technology and modernity. Make no mistake the intersection of technology and modernity will occur. In fact, the intersection of technology and modernity is occurring every day. Theoretically, the advancing intersection is occurring at the rate technological innovation can influence society. Given the omnipresent reality of the situation, somebody has to do something to advance awareness of the issue. Somebody has to talk about the pending changes to society. Beyond simplistic Luddite presumptions of rejection or shunning, technology should never be allowed to dominate every interaction within society.

As a subject of interest, receiving consideration on a weekly basis, the NelsCAST focuses on a collection of notes concerning the intersection of technology and modernity. As a general rule or assumption, futurist writers, thinkers, or speculators tend to consider technology ubiquitous. In addition to the multitude of futurist considerations, academics have given the concept of modernity extensive consideration within volumes upon volumes of literature.

At some point, people developed a general sense of awareness about the nature of society after the industrial age. As a term, modernity for some academics describes the written description of a general sense of awareness about the modern age. For example, each new moment of awareness describes the current state of modernity. Fundamentally, modernity constantly changes while remaining relatively constant. Conceptually and literally, the ubiquitous technology described within the essays of futurists is rapidly intersecting with modernity.

The intersection of technology and modernity will be complete when futurist considerations about modernity no longer mention the concept of technology independently from modernity. Technology will eventually overwhelm every aspect of society. Every aspect of life will involve using technology. Interconnected relationships define modern civil society. Eventually technology will facilitate if not define the nature of interconnectivity between people within society.

The pending intersection of technology and modernity will fundamentally change interpersonal relationships, interactions within civil society, and the modern condition of individuals inside and outside of the system. Within all of the potential dangers, a few benefits exist, but the benefit will never be realized without awareness of the potential pitfalls of total technology emersion.

…the third episode of the NelsCAST has defined the intellectual purpose of the NelsCAST… All future essays, commentaries, expository considerations are about the intersection of technology and modernity.

…and now the official NelsCAST monologue… The topic today will involve the intersection of digital photography and social networking. Digital photography documents moments from everyday life and everyday moments. I have recently integrated the Twitter micro blogging service with Flickr the photo sharing service now owned by Yahoo. People will continue to share digital photographs and digital video.

The natural rate of technological improvement is increasing the quality of digital cameras integrated into cellular phones and other mobile communication devices. Eventually, high quality imagery will be completely mobile. Ubiquitous image capturing will fundamentally change society. Public expectations for privacy are decreasing. Social networking applications are brining together candid digital photographs with careful online attribution.

Now is the time to consider the possibility of a falling dominos security risk scenario. A trend is emerging within social networking applications. That trend is interconnectivity between different social networking applications. When one application has access to another application, the possibility exists for the falling dominos effect.

When one of the interconnected social networking applications become compromised the entire string of dominos falls. Researchers could easily make the argument that a positive relationship exists between online interconnectivity and increasing security risks. For example, the larger the degree of interconnectivity within social networking applications the larger the security risks that will develop.

The basis of simple interpersonal interactions between individuals living within society has started to change. At the very heart of this change, technology advances beyond the control of any single individual, government, or society. High functioning groups exist within society. Communities of purpose, place, interest, or circumstance form the formational basis of high functioning groups.
