On Monday, the Spartans of Michigan State will be competing against the Tar Hells of North Carolina. One of these two national basketball powers will collect an additional NCAA national championship trophy. A DVD copy of last years Jayhawks of Kansas defeating the Tigers of Memphis sits on the shelf collecting dust. Archived basketball games really only hold the attention of viewers with a vested interest. People typically watch live sports. Sometimes people watch recently recorded sporting events. Occasionally, given enough time people will watch classic sports archives. Something about the spectator knowing the outcome changes the very nature of a sporting event. Perhaps the highest levels of physical competition are simply nothing more than a form of artistic expression.
