Amazon delivered the new Hewlett Packard (HP) LaserJet P1006 printer yesterday evening. The box for the printer is surprisingly compact. Clearly, on the outside of the box HP has labeled the device with the Energy Star designation. HP claims the printer can produce up to seventeen pages per minute. Only real world testing within an office environment will test the seventeen pages per minute rating. HP elected to provide the compact laser printer a limited one hundred and fifty page paper tray. After some initial installation procedures, the printer promptly produced several high quality pages. In order to ensure the printer got off to the right start the printer needs to be accessible throughout the house. The previous monochrome laser printer utilized a wireless router to share access throughout the house. At some point this week, the HP LaserJet P1006 will be accessible by using a wireless internet router. Right now, the printer is only accessible through a single USB connection, but in the future Nels will achieve wireless connectivity.
