Products demonstrating advances in technology typically enter the market with high prices. Eventually, the economics of scale reduce the price to acceptable levels. Current economic conditions have caused extreme drops in worldwide pricing. Without a tremendous demand for technology, only the strongest products will survive. Companies have to focus on producing high quality products people will want to purchase. Certain products will always have an audience. Harsh economic conditions help companies focus on the decision to engage in production. Advancing technological progress is not a business plan.
